This American Sailing Association Accredited course is the highest level course that we offer and allows you to skipper in the US and most popular sailing destinations in Europe. To take this course, you must have taken the Basic Keelboat Sailing Standard (ASA 101) and Basic Coastal Cruising Standard (ASA 103). You are strongly encouraged to form a crew of 4. This course covers one module.     booking terms & conditions All participants are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the following Terms and Conditions. Alpha Marine Pte. Ltd. (Discover Sailing Asia) shall be referred to as “the Company” in the following: Your purchase does not automatically guarantee a reservation. Your purchase will be confirmed via email within one to three business days. The amendment and cancellation fee policy will take effect once you submit your reservation. If your purchase cannot be confirmed for any reason, we will fully refund your purchase without any additional charges. We recommend each customer read and review the cancellation policy. 1. what can be refunded Some courses and tours may require a minimum number of participants to be conducted. In the unlikely event that the minimum number of participants is not met, the affected participants will be fully refunded or may choose a similar trip as a substitute. Please note that should the substitute trip chosen by the Customer be more expensive than the original trip, additional costs will apply and be borne by the Customer. Any additional refunds based on extenuating circumstances will depend on the individual tour operator. what cannot be refunded All sailing schedules are arranged ahead of time. Any person failing to appear on the day of departure will not be refunded. No refund will be given for any portions of the sail unused by the Customer after departure regardless of circumstances. 2. cancellation by customer 2.1 Cancellation of bookings must be made in writing or in-person to avoid any misunderstandings. 2.2 The following cancellation fees apply once any booking is made: Cancellation Made Within 90 Days Prior to Departure Date - Non-refundable 120 Days Prior to Departure Date - 50% of total purchase amount can be refunded 150 or more Days Prior to Departure Date - 75% of the total purchase amount can be refunded Please note that cancellation fees are calculated based on the date the Company receives your signed Cancellation Request Form and travel service start date. If the course or tour is scheduled to occur within the next 90 days, the Company will not change the departure date, nor will a refund be granted. All cancellations must be made directly with the Company. For refunds processed by wire transfer, any associated wire transfer fee will be deducted from the overall refund amount. For bookings made via the website booking platform, 3.25% of the payment will be non-refundable due to processing fees. ​ How to Cancel a Reservation We will process your cancellation/refund request within one to seven business days. We will NOT acknowledge any verbal or over-the-phone request or voice mail. Verbally speaking with our customer service representatives without filling out a request form will not guarantee that your cancellation has been processed or acknowledged. We will NOT accept email cancellations unless they have a complete, signed, and attached Cancellation Form. Cancellations must be made by sending an official cancellation request to the Company. Kindly include the reason for cancellation. 3. amendment to bookings (requested by customers) 3.1 For any changes in sailing date, cancellation fees apply as listed under Cancellation by the Customer. 3.2 For every request made regardless of whether any previous amendment was confirmed, there will be a minimum fee of $150.00 per person per amendment. 3.3 A postponement of course or tour by the Customer for any reason is considered a cancellation. Under such circumstances, the above Cancellation Policies will apply accordingly. 3.4 Should you request for a postponement of sail within a week prior to your charter, you will be charged 30% of your total amount paid. There will be a minimum fee of $150.00 per person per amendment. Please inform us ASAP and provide a valid reason. 4. amendment to itinerary by company & CANCELLATION BY COMPANY The Company makes reasonable effort to avoid changes in the itinerary and/or cancellation of sails. However, the Company reserves the right to make changes at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, especially during peak periods or in the event of other circumstances beyond our control. ​ 5. Disruption of trips due to Changes in Covid 19 restrictions The Company makes reasonable effort to avoid changes in the itinerary and/or cancellation of sails. However, in the event of an unavoidable disruption of trips due to changes in COVID-19 restrictions, you will be entitled to one free reschedule OR a full-value voucher that can be used to rebook the trip or a different trip of the same value. In the event that a different trip of higher value is chosen, you will have to top up the difference. The Company is not responsible for any changes to the prices of the trips. To avoid being affected by the changes in prices, you may choose to reschedule your trip instead. ​ 6. Wet weather policy Singapore is a tropical country with occasional passing showers and thunderstorms. With that in mind, what happens to your charter? The captain is responsible for assessing the weather and deciding the next course of action. Their decision is final and non-negotiable. As a guide, you need to report to your charter as per the booking details, as the weather on site may differ from what you are experiencing. In the event of rain, the charter will continue to proceed. If it develops into a thunderstorm (CAT 1), then we will delay the charter for up to a reasonable time where there is no conflict with subsequent charters. If the situation persists, we will then reschedule the charter to a mutually agreeable date and time. The charter is considered fulfilled if the yacht has left the embarkation point. ​ Again it is always recommended to contact your captain and get an onsite assessment of the weather. ​ 7. Indemnity By participating in any of our trips, you agree to the following. Indemnity Agreement ​ I understand there is an element of risk in any form of boating and realize there is a chance of an accident occurring. I accept and assume all risk. While every effort is made by Alpha Marine Pte Ltd (Discover Sailing Asia) and our partners to provide safety equipment and protective gear, I assume the responsibility of clothing myself in suitable attire for the boating environment. ​ In consideration of being permitted to participate in the activities being offered by Discover Sailing Asia. I, being of lawful age, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin release, waive any claim against, discharge, and covenant not to sue Discover Sailing Asia, their employees, servants, agents, contractors, or any owner of any boat used by Discover Sailing Asia, their heirs, administrators and executors (hereinafter collectively referred to as “releasees”) and agree not to hold any of the above-named releasees liable for any claim including but without limitation, any claim for bodily or personal injuries, know or unknown, death or property damage resulting or arising from accident or event which may occur while on, or boarding, or disembarking from any boat or facility used by the above-described releasees or as a result of my participation in activities conducted by the releasees. I agree to indemnify the releasees and each of them from any loss, liability, damage, or costs they may incur due to my participation whether caused solely or in part by the negligence, gross negligence, or intentional conduct of the releasees. ​ I hereby assume full responsibility for and risk bodily injury, death, or property damage due to negligence of the releasees or otherwise while participating in activities conducted by the releasees named parties or where I am present on their premises or vessels. This acknowledgement extends to risks involving contracting and/or being quarantined due to Covid-19. I expressly agree that this release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the law, and where any portion of this agreement is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall notwithstanding continue in full legal force and effect. ​ I FURTHER STATE THAT I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THE RELEASE AND KNOW THE CONTENTS OF THE RELEASE. ​ I FURTHER RELEASE ALL OF THE RELEASEES FROM ANY CLAIM WHATSOEVER ON ACCOUNT OF FIRST AID, TREATMENT, OR SERVICES RENDERED BY THEM. Your Adventure: ​ Day 1, from 1200: Enjoy scenic view of our coasts as we depart Marina at Keppel Bay for Pulau Ubin on your exciting sail. Look out for Singapore's traditional fish farms, also known as kelongs, along the way. Feel free to bring along and eat your lunch onboard while enjoying the serenity of being out at sea. Once we reach Pulau Ubin, it’s time for a delicious sunset barbecue! Get cooking as the sunset bathes the world in a warm, soft glow, the perfect way to finish the day's adventures! ​ Day 2: Wake up at first light to a tranquil sunrise, refreshed from a night's sleep at sea. Spend some time in the water or you can even take some time to walk around Pulau Ubin town centre or rent a bicycle to do some further exploring. A paradise for nature lovers, Pulau Ubin has plenty to offer with its lush greenery and abundant wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for the thriving wildlife on Pulau Ubin, and you might spot river otters or a few bird species! Enjoy a complimentary light lunch onboard. You may choose to go for a food hunt at Pulau Ubin or purchase an add-on for a lunch at a floating restaurant (optional). Bid goodbye to Pulau Ubin as we depart at 2pm to Lazarus Island. Enjoy dinner onboard a nd watch the sunset on deck as it bathes the world in a warm, soft glow. ​ ​ Day 3, till 1000: Rise and shine. It’s time to get your bathing suits on for a dip in the ocean or playtime at the beach. You can also decide to stay dry on the boat and simply savour the feeling of the boat gently rocking with the waves. Play around on the water on a kayak or stand up paddle board!
